How to Trade Tickets

TRADES ARE BACK!! 🎉
 

The new and improved Trades feature allows fans to exchange tickets safely and will now ensure both users are fully covered by our Trader's Protection Guarantee!

Trades are currently available on Cashortrade for Gold members only. Access will be expanded to all users soon.

All trades follow CashorTrade’s standard escrow, delivery, and payout process to ensure both traders are fully protected.

Before creating or requesting a trade, please note:

• Trades are currently available to Gold members only

• Tickets must be listed and requested at face value or less

• Both users are now required to send payment to each other to protect the trade.

  -Think of it as your insurance; the amount you send will be the amount of protection you will receive in case there are any issues. We always recommend that both users "sell" their tickets to each other at the ticket's face value price

• All trades must be 1:1 or 2:1 + the price difference

• All trade requests begin as Uncommitted, allowing both users to communicate before finalizing, and collecting payments

   

How it works:

How to Create a Trade Listing

• Select "Post Tickets" > "Trade My Tickets"

• Select the artist and event(s) for the tickets you have

• Select the delivery method of the tickets you have (digital, PDF, etc.)

• Enter the face value price of the tickets you have

• Provide any relevant details about the tickets you have

• Select the artist and event(s) for the tickets you want

  -Only users who have tickets that match these preferences will be able to place a request on your listing

• Include a description of the trade you are looking to make

• Review the listing and click "Post Tickets" if everything looks good to go

Note: You will be able to change your "Asking Price" after the post is created

• This is the amount that the requester will be charged when you accept their request

How to Submit a Request

• Select "Request to Trade" on the listing you would like to trade

• Click "Add Tickets" to add the artist and event(s) of the tickets you are offering up for trade

• Enter the details of the tickets you have, including the face value price

• You may edit your Offer Price prior to committing

• Click "Save Tickets" to add these tickets to your request

• Select your transfer information (this is what the lister will use to transfer their tickets to you)

• Include a message to the lister with extra details about the trade

• Submit your Request!

  -The lister will be notified of your request, but you are not fully committed yet!

• Chat with the lister to work out any details about the trade

• If you're ready to commit to the trade, click "Commit Now".

• Select which card you want to be charged for the trade

  -Your card will only be charged the lister's "Asking Price" if the lister accepts your request

Both users will have the option to edit their asking price BEFORE the request is accepted by the lister.

After the Trade Request is accepted:

• Both users’ cards are charged the "Asking Price" of the tickets they will be receiving

• Each trader pays the other for their tickets

• Funds are securely held in escrow until after the tickets are marked as received on CashorTrade

Payment Examples:

• Example 1: Even 1:1 trade

  • A lister has one ticket with a face value price of $100

  • The requester has a ticket that matches what the lister wants and the face value price is also $100

    -BOTH users should set their asking price at $100

    -BOTH users will be charged $100 once the lister accepts the request

    -BOTH users will be paid out $100 after the tickets are marked as received, in accordance with their Active Transaction Credit Limit (ATCL)

• Example 2: Even 2:1 trade

  • A lister has two tickets with a face value price of $50, but they want to trade for one more expensive ticket

  • The requester has one ticket that matches what the lister wants, and the face value price is $100

    -The lister will set their asking price at $50 per ticket

    -The requester will set their asking price at $100 per ticket

    -BOTH users will be charged $100 once the lister accepts the request

    -BOTH users will be paid out $100 after the tickets are marked as received, in accordance with their Active Transaction Credit Limit (ATCL)

• Example 3: Uneven 2:1 trade

  • A lister has two tickets with a face value price of $50 each, but they want to trade for only one ticket

  • The requester has one ticket that matches what the lister wants, and the face value price is $75

    -The lister will set their asking price at $50 per ticket

    -The requester will set their asking price at $75 per ticket

    -The lister will be charged $75 for the ticket they will be receiving once they accept the request

    -The requester will be charged $100 once the lister accepts the request

    -The lister will be paid out $100 after the tickets are marked as received, in accordance with their Active Transaction Credit Limit (ATCL)

    -The requester will be paid out $75 after the tickets are marked as received, in accordance with their Active Transaction Credit Limit (ATCL)

Deliver Tickets

After the request has been accepted by the lister, and both users have been charged, each trader is responsible for:

• Delivering their tickets to the other party exactly as outlined in the trade listing or request

• Marking tickets as Sent in on CashorTrade

How Payouts are Processed:

After both traders send their tickets and mark them as Received, payouts are processed according to each user's Active Transaction Credit Limit (ATCL)

• CashorTrade holds the funds from the trade in escrow and will initiate the payout based on each user's Trust Level and ATCL

• If a payout is below the user's ATCL, the payout will begin to process 3-5 business days after the tickets are marked as received

• If a payout exceeds the user's ATCL, it will begin to process 3-5 business days after the event has ended

• If a user does not mark tickets as received, the payout will begin to process 3-5 business days after the event has ended

NOTE: For all hotel, travel packages, VIP experiences, Cloud9, Playa Luna, 100x packages, or other high-risk events, all payouts will be held in escrow until 3-5 business days after check-out. For more information, please refer to the Help Center article: Payout Process for Travel Packages and High Risk Events

Payouts are processed Monday–Friday around 10pm EST (excluding bank holidays). Please allow 1–5 business days for funds to appear in your PayPal account after the payout has been initiated.

Trades on CashorTrade now offer the same protections as any transaction.

By "selling" your tickets to each other, both traders remain covered by our Trader's Protection Guarantee!
